Traveling from Puerto Jiménez to Matapalo early in the morning will allow you to identify many birds and certainly some wildlife. Along the road, your guide knows specific spots where there are possibilities of seeing interesting species.

Once in Matapalo, you will be walking both on a back road and in the forest, you will also stop at a waterfall for a refreshing dip.

During this expedition, discover colorful bird species, fascinating mammals and many different insect species while walking in the lush rainforest of the Osa Peninsula. See endless plant and tree varieties, including the impressive strangler tree, as well as local, medicinal plants.

Pay close attention to any noises surrounding you as you might spot interesting animals. This zone is inhabited by four species of monkeys, along with the endangered red scarlet macaw, colorful frogs and much more.
